(VOVworld) – Vietnamese Party General Secretary  Nguyen Phu Trong held talks on Wednesday with President of the Cuban Parliament Ricardo Alarcon and received General Secretary  of the United Left Movement of Dominica, MIU, Jose Miguel Mejia. Trong and Alarcon affirmed their determination to deepen the friendship, solidarity, and multi-faceted cooperation between the two Parties, Governments and peoples.

At the reception for the MIU General Secretary , Mr. Trong reiterated Vietnam’s support for the struggle of the MIU Party and the Dominican people. The two men agreed on measures to improve future cooperation in economics, trade, and investment. The Vietnamese delegation presented to the Dominican people 300,000 USD to build a school in the Dominican capital named after Vietnam.

The same day, leaders of the Ministries of Finance and Construction of Vietnam and Cuban signed memorandums of understanding on financial cooperation until 2015 and witnessed the signing of a cooperative agreement to construct a 5-star hotel in Havana worth 250 million USD.
