(VOVworld) - Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong met with President of the House of Councilors Masaaki Yamazaki on Wednesday, who affirmed the Japanese upper house always gives priority to promoting cooperation with Vietnam.

The Vietnamese Party leader expressed his joy at fruitful results, especially in economics, of the Vietnam-Japan extensive strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia. He said Vietnam wishes to deepen strategic partnership with Japan, stressing that the country always considers Japan its leading important and long-term partner.

Masaaki Yamazaki highly valued the development of the bilateral relations in recent years, especially since the ties were elevated to an extensive strategic partnership in 2014. He added that his agency wants to boost exchange with the Vietnamese legislative body.
