(VOVworld) – Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Hanoi National Assembly deputies met with voters in Tay Ho district on Friday to brief them on the results of the just concluded National Assembly session.

Party leader Trong said that the session addressed a number of key national issues and approved the revised 1992 Constitution. He said that Vietnam’s election to the UN Human Rights Council is an important achievement of Vietnam’s foreign policy, consolidating people’s trust in the Party’s leadership. He added that greater efforts are needed to fight corruption in the coming years: “Deterrence and inspection are crucial in preventing corruption. 8 major corruption cases have been dealt with this year and two more will soon be considered.”
