(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong received in Hanoi on Thursday Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim who is on an official visit to Vietnam.

At the meeting, the Vietnamese Party leader stressed Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s visit marked a new milestone, contributing to the development of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
The Party leader reiterated Vietnam’s external policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization and diversification of external relations and respecting ties with neighboring countries.
He expressed his belief in the potential development of bilateral ties, urging the two countries to exchange experience in leadership, socio-economic development, and anti-corruption, negativity and wastefulness.
The Malaysian Prime Minister said he hoped to boost comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam, especially the Party relationship, and share experience in leadership and development.
He urged the two countries to boost cooperation in economy, national defense and security, digital economy, cybersecurity and response to non-tradition security challenges as well as share experience in combating corruption.
