Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong meets local ethnic people in Chieng Ban, Son La province

(VOVworld) – Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong visited Chieng Ban commune in Mai Son district on Wednesday as part of his tour of Son La province. He said the commune should work harder on socio-economic development by fully tapping the potential of coffee growing. Visiting teachers and students of a provincial ethnic boarding school, Trong asked the school to improve the quality of local education to contribute to Son La’s development.

In the afternoon, the Party leader visited Son La hydro-power plant, where he praised the creativity of engineers and technicians who helped build Vietnam’s major hydro-power project.  

Party General Secretary Trong burned incense and paid tribute to martyrs at Son La prison relic site.  He called for more efforts to preserve and restore the site in order to educate the public on revolutionary traditions and to remember the great merits by Vietnamese communists, who died for national independence and freedom and the people’s happiness.
