Party leader: Patriotic emulation appeal remains relevant
(VOVWORLD) -Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Tran Dai Quang, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan attended a meeting in Hanoi on Sunday to mark 70 years of President Ho Chi Minh’s appeal for patriotic emulation (June 11).
Addressing the meeting, Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong urged the Council for Emulation and Rewards from central to grassroots level, its members, and other leaders to continue reform to make the movement a genuine leadership method of the Party, a management method of the government, and a momentum to build new people and contribute to national construction and defense.
Mr. Trong called on all the people and the armed forces to thoroughly study Ho Chi Minh’s thought on patriotic emulation and apply them in daily life. He said the emulation movement should be practical and beneficial to the country, society, and people, kindle the spirit of self-awareness, responsibility, and activeness, and provide momentum for national construction and defense.
The Party leader expressed his gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh who initiated the patriotic emulation movement and set a bright example of a patriot. Mr. Trong said the appeal remains relevant today and expressed his hope that the patriotic emulation movement will make breakthroughs in the time to come.
