(VOVworld) - Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong received a special envoy of the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and President Xi Jinping in Hanoi on Friday. Special envoy Song Tao extended Xi's congratulations to Trong on his re-election as general secretary of the 12^th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Song, who is also head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, conveyed Xi Jinping's message that China is ready to work together with Vietnam to develop their comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in a sustained, stable and healthy manner, thus contributing to peace, stability, prosperity and development in the region.

Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong said the Vietnam side is willing to consolidate and develop the traditional friendship with China. He wished that both sides will realize common awareness between senior leaders to promote practical cooperation to maintain peace and stability in the East Sea in the spirit of taking actions along with speeches to promote bilateral ties for peace, stability, development and cooperation.

A member of the Politbureau and Head of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission, Vuong Dinh Hue, received Song Tao the same day. Hue asked both sides to boost sustainable trade and welcomed Chinese investors of competency to cooperate with Vietnam.

Head of the Party External Relations Commission, Hoang Binh Quan, received the Chinese special envoy on Friday.
