(VOVworld) – Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong received the Speaker of the Republic of Korea’s Parliament Chung Ui hwa in Hanoi on Wednesday. He said that both countries had become important strategic partners and the Republic of Korea was Vietnam’s biggest investor. Mr. Trong appreciated the two countries’ announcement of having completed negotiations for a free trade agreement, which would bring two-way trade to 70 billion USD by 2020. He pledged to create favorable conditions for Korean businesses to invest in Vietnam, stressing the importance of cooperation between both national assemblies in legislation and supervision.

Chung Ui hwa said the Korean parliament, government and people hoped to deepen cooperation with Vietnam in all areas. He also pledged to further contribute to the development of relations between the two national assemblies and peoples.
