(VOVworld)- Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong on Monday held a meeting with the Police Central Party Committee and key leaders of the Ministry of Public Security on national security since the 11^th Party Congress and to look at future tasks.

The Party leader pointed out challenges facing the safeguarding of the nation, national security and political and social stability as well as the creation of peace and favorable conditions for national development. Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong said: “The people’s police need to resolutely realize the Party’s guidelines on national defense, defeating all sabotage attempts by hostile forces and crimes against national security, and eliminating factors that cause political and social instability. It is important to focus on maintaining national security, law and order in all situations, stay on high alert against terrorism, sabotage and unrest, protect internal security, promptly and effectively solve arising complications and ensure absolute safety for the nation’s key targets and important events”.

The same day, the Party leader congratulated the police force on the occasion of the 68^th Traditional Day of the Vietnam People’s Police, August 19.
