Mr. Thuong made the statement at a national meeting in Hanoi on Friday to review press work in 2018 and set out tasks for 2019. Mr. Thuong said “It’s necessary to correct those who have derailed from their guidelines and principles and strengthen management of media activities, representative offices, resident correspondents, and contributors. More aggressive measures are needed. The line organization and the leaders of media organizations should uphold their responsibilities. The Ministry of Information and Communications needs to build a set of tools to differentiate between an electronic newspaper and an electronic magazine.”
On the occasion, the Party Central Committee’s Education and Communications Commission, presented certificates of merits to 25 teams, including VOV’s News and Current Affairs Department.
