At the working session, Mr. Trong called on Kien Giang to uphold its heroic tradition and capitalize on its advantages as the center of the Mekong delta in marine economy, rice production, and tourism. He said: “Special attention should be paid to economic development, party building, and social culture. Cultural tradition should be promoted, while backward customs should be reformed. Security, defense, national independence and territorial integrity should be safeguarded, while good relations with neighboring countries and international friends are maintained. To do so, a strategic mindset and master and specific plans are needed.”
