(VOVWORLD) - Philippines Foreign Secretary Teodoro Locsin on Sunday renewed a call for compliance with the arbitration ruling that invalidated China’s vast claims in the disputed South China Sea, known as East Sea in Vietnam.

The call was issued on the 4th anniversary of the ruling by the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague, Netherlands.
Locsin said the PCA “conclusively settled the issue of historic rights and maritime entitlements in the South China Sea” based on the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, adding that there is no chance of any compromise. The court authoritatively ruled that China’s claim of historic rights to resources in the South China Sea has no basis in law.
