Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc meets leaders of the agriculture sector

Speaking at a meeting of the sector in Hanoi on Thursday, Prime Minister Phuc pointed out tasks that the sector needs to focus on in the future: “It’s necessary to create more drastic changes in agricultural restructuring in 2018. We need to focus on promoting commodity-based agriculture, apply high technology, and take advantage of the 4^th industrial revolution to improve our quality, efficiency and competitiveness. We need to strengthen new rural development in association with improving production capacity and productivity as well as people’s life.”

The Prime Minister reiterated the targets of achieving an agricultural growth of 3%, earning an export value of 40 billion USD, and having 52 districts and 37% of communes becoming new rural areas.
