Applauding Phong Thuy Company for applying hi-tech in production of clean and safe agricultural produce, the PM said high-tech agricultural production model is an important direction of Vietnam’s agriculture, bringing higher value and income for farmers. Mr. Phuc asked the company’s leaders to continue expanding production and market, build its trade mark, and forge closer links with famer households to make their business thrive.

On Monday, Prime Minister Phuc will chair a national conference on promoting investment in agriculture in Lam Dong to be attended by 600 delegates from ministries, sectors and international organizations as well as domestic and foreign firms.

Nguyen Dinh Son, Director General of Da Lat Flower Forest Biological Technology JSC, pointed our challenges facing businesses involved in  agriculture: “There have been barriers in attracting investment into agriculture. It’s difficult to develop agriculture without mid-term and long-term loans. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development tightly control new varieties and it’s takes a lot procedures to import varieties into Vietnam. So it’s difficult to create a competitive product in the domestic market and for exports. Agricultural production without land reserve in support of enterprises can hardly receive investment.”
