(VOVworld)- The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development convened its year-end online meeting on Monday to review its performance during the year.

In his address, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said agriculture, IT, and tourism were Vietnam’s advantages and economic competitive edge in the 4^th industrial revolution. The Prime Minister said that in the context of climate change, it was important to continue with agricultural restructuring in order to develop a smart agriculture system to create high-value products and ensure social security and livelihoods for farmers. The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of extensively restructuring agriculture, diversifying cooperation between enterprises and farmers, and participating in the agricultural value chain. He asked the Ministry of Science and Technology to focus more on scientific application in agricultural production.
