(VOVWORLD) - The Vietnamese Party and State have always paid special attention to hunger eradication and poverty reduction work, said Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the program "The whole country joins hands for the poor" yesterday.

He emphasized that it is an urgent requirement and a strategic task of rapid and sustainable national economic development.
"Joining hands for the poor – leaving no one behind" is not only a slogan but concrete and practical actions. Let's stay by the side of the poor and less fortunate people to help them with our hearts, understanding, respect, and deep sympathy. Poverty reduction is a task of the all people and the whole society which requires a national approach with the active participation of the community and the coordination of all sectors, international friends and partners. I earnestly urge ministries, sectors, and localities to continue to implement synchronously and effectively guidelines and policies on poverty reduction, especially the National Target Programs.”
PM Chinh recommended organizing training on production skills and generating jobs for poor people. Businesses, organizations, and individuals continue to have practical activities and contribute more to poverty reduction and social security.
