PM commends Thaco-Chu Lai complex’s success
(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has lauded the success of the Thaco-Chu Lai complex in Quang Nam province’s Chu Lai open economic zone as laying the ground for Vietnam’s automobile industry.

Mr. Phuc told the 15th anniversary of the complex on Sunday that Truong Hai Auto Corporation (Thaco) has become a major Vietnamese brand and helped build the trademark for the Chu Lai open economic zone which now includes an airport, an international seaport, and an expressway. Thaco is currently involved in automobile manufacture, assembly, and distribution. It has cooperated with major global manufacturers like Kia of South Korea, Mazda of Japan, and Peugeot of France.
The same day, Prime Minister Phuc attended a ceremony announcing an adjustment of the Chu Lai open economic zone. Under a plan until 2035, the zone will be expanded to include 3 more coastal districts.
