The outcomes of the trip will open a new period in Vietnam-Singapore cooperation and contribute to ASEAN’s resilience and innovation. Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Quoc Dung said: “In addition to traditional cooperation areas such as electronics, apparel, and processing industries, both sides are determined to expand their collaboration in areas of higher value-added, including new energy, renewable energy, and hi-tech.”

During his trip, PM Phuc promoted trade and investment and witnessed the signing of 16 agreements between enterprises and localities from both sides. He said Vietnam welcomes Singaporean investors in the new period: “Vietnam is working to boost start-ups, economic dynamism, and open-door policy with improved production capabilities. This will create big opportunities for investors. The Vietnamese government pledges optimal conditions for start-up ideas and intellectual property protection in line with the Law on Intellectual Property approved by the Vietnamese National Assembly, as well as realizes Vietnam’s commitment to protecting intellectual property in line with FTAs.”

Attending the 32nd ASEAN summit, PM Phuc voiced his opinion that promoting innovation will stimulate ASEAN’s resilience power, particularly economic resilience. On the sidelines of the summit, Mr. Phuc held bilateral meetings with Indonesian President Joko Widodo, and Myanmar President Win Myint, discussing measures and orientations for relations development.
