(VOVWORLD) - The World Bank (WB) is a very important development partner, who always supports and actively contributes to Vietnam’s socio-economic development, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said while welcoming visiting WB Regional Vice President for East Asia and the Pacific Victoria Kwakwa on Monday.

PM Chinh praised the bank’s effective macro policy consultancy, which has conformed with Vietnam’s development orientations and goals in different periods.
Kwakwa agreed to help Vietnam get equal access and negotiate contracts with COVID-19 vaccine producers around the world, to provide financial resources for vaccine purchase and domestic vaccine production technology transfer, and to push for the implementation of contracts signed with Pfizer and AstraZeneca to deliver vaccines to Vietnam as soon as possible.
She supported PM Chinh’s views on Vietnam’s green growth strategy, and pledged to help Vietnam develop the 2045 Report and realize its plans to make Vietnam a developed, high-income country by 2045.
