PM: industry-trade sector must speed up reform process
(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Thursday urged the industry and trade sector to continue speeding up reforms so as to surpass all targets set by the National Assembly, thus creating a long-term and firm foundation for national economic development.

Speaking at a conference outlining tasks for 2019, PM Phuc praised the sector’s achievements, saying they have contributed greatly to national development. He said: “In the context of Vietnam’s extensive integration, economic self-reliance is an important factor for Vietnam’s industry-trade sector. It’s necessary to attract more investment from domestic and multi-national economic groups. In order to realize the sector’s development strategy until 2030 with vision toward 2045, it’s necessary to take further steps to boost Vietnam’s growth.”
The Prime Minister asked the sector to focus on promoting the application of science and technology, reforming planning methods, strengthening SOE restructuring, and preventing import surplus in 2019.
