(VOVworld) – The 25^th anniversary celebration of ASEAN and the Republic of Korea dialogue relations opened in Busan city on Friday. Delegates passed a declaration on visions of the relations and orientation for strategic partnership between ASEAN and the Republic of Korea for peace, stability, cooperation and development.

Speaking in the event, the Prime Minister called for more cooperation and mutual support in ensuring peace, stability and security through upgrades of the ASEAN Republic of Korea Free Trade Agreement and finalization of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership agreement next year. He expected more connectivity in infrastructure, institutions and human resources while responding to non conventional security challenges in the Mekong sub region. The Prime minister said complicated situations in the East Sea required the maintenance of peace and maritime security, in which all parties must comply with international law and do not use force or threat to use force and intensify tension. He emphasized the need for trust building to secure regional peace, stability and security.
