(VOVworld)- The 9^th National Patriotic Emulation Congress closed in Hanoi on Monday. During the two-day congress, delegates reviewed patriotic emulation movements in the last five years and orientations through 2020.

PM Nguyen Tan Dung launches a patriotic emulation movement

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, on behalf of the government and the Central Council for Emulation and Rewards launched a patriotic emulation movement for the 2016-2020 period. Under the theme “Solidarity, creativity, emulation in national construction and defense”, the movement aims at successfully fulfilling socio-economic development targets, improving productivity, promoting creativity, increasing economic competitiveness, restructuring the economy and changing the growth model. The Prime Minister said: “Emulation movements and the movement of following President Ho Chi Min’s moral example need to aim at increasing the Party’s capabilities and fighting capacity, improving the state management, strengthening the fight against corruption and wastefulness. It’s necessary to reform emulation movements of the Fatherland Front and social organizations, bring into play the strength of the unity bloc, and mobilize all resources and creativity to contribute to fulfilling national socio-economic targets”.
