(VOVworld)- Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has sent a telegram to ministries, agencies and localities urging for strong efforts to overcome consequences of recent torrential rain and flooding.

In the telegram, the Prime Minister conveyed his condolences and expressed his sympathy to disaster victims. Further torrential rain and flooding are forecast to continue in the next few days. The Prime Minister asked provincial and municipal people’s committees, relevant ministries sectors to promptly deal with the disaster, increase search and rescue for missing people, and help disaster-hit families to stabilize their lives and production. He stressed the need to focus on supplying food, necessities for poor and isolated people, especially those whose houses were damaged, and social beneficiaries. The Prime Minister demanded further inspection of high-risked areas of landslide and flashfloods and evacuate people to safer areas, increase dissemination of information, and instruct people on how to cope with disaster.
