At a reception for New Zealand Ambassador, Wendy Irene Matthews, Prime Minister Phuc said he hopes Vietnam and New Zealand will work to elevate their relations to a strategic partnership. Mr. Phuc asked Ambassador Matthews to serve as a bridge to help more New Zealand businesses come to Vietnam to explore investment opportunities. He noted the new direct air route from Auckland to Ho Chi Minh City.

At a reception on the same day for new Slovenia Ambassador, Janez Premoze, Mr. Phuc said Vietnam is ready to serve as a bridge for Slovenia to increase cooperation with other members of ASEAN, a large market with 600 million people.
PM Phuc said he hopes Ambassador Premoze will work to raise bilateral trade three or four fold during his tenure and called on Slovenian investors to do business in Vietnam, stressing that Vietnam will create the best possible environment for investors.
