Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc shakes hands with VNU leaders

At a meeting with the leaders of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, (VNU) on Sunday, Mr. Phuc praised the University for its efforts to become the leading education institution in Vietnam which has a total of 412 universities and colleges. He called on VNU to combine its development orientation with the goal of building a start-up country: “One of measurements of a university is how many students have successfully started up their business, rather than how many students have found a job. Job is important, but start-up is more important. We should nurture dreams like students of the Harvard or Massachusetts universities. The Tokyo University has about 240 start-up companies including 14 listed on the securities market with market capitalization worth about 8 billion USD.”

Commenting the VNU’s 2030 vision, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc called for efforts to closely link studies and practical applications.
