Deputy Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung
(VOVworld) – Deputy Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung said Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s visit to China has created new momentum for bilateral trade and economic ties.
He told the press on Thursday that during the visit leaders of both countries exchanged measures to enhance political trust and practical cooperation and manage maritime disputes to protect peace, stability, and development of relations between the two countries.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc met with Chinese Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, had talks with Premier Li Keqiang, had meetings with Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhang Dejiang and Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Yu Zhengsheng.
The Vietnamese and Chinese leaders agreed on important issues including enhancing relations and political trust, increasing win-win cooperation, managing differences, and stabilizing the maritime situation.
Prime Minister Phuc visited Hong Kong and met with Chief Executive of Hong Kong Leung Chun Ying and Chief Secretary for Administration of the special administrative region Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor. He attended the Vietnam – Hong Kong Business Forum.
Mr. Phuc informed them of Vietnam’s macro-economic policies, the government’s effort to improve the investment and trade environment, and incentives for foreign investment. He encouraged Hong Kong investors to do business in Vietnam in banking, finance, insurance, maritime transport, and infrastructure, and promised to protect their legitimate rights.
