The PM proposed that the two sides consider establishing new cooperation mechanisms to promote cooperation in trade, investment, green transformation, digital transformation, high-tech, processing industry, manufacturing, climate change prevention, energy, education and training.

Agreeing with Prime Minister Chinh's opinion, Minister Mary Ng pledged to elevate economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries to a new level. She stressed the Plan to mobilize resources to implement the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP), benefitting both sides.

The Minister also said that the Canadian trade delegation visiting Vietnam this time include more than 300 people, including representatives of 70 leading Canadian businesses, demonstrating the businesses’ interest in and commitment to investment in Vietnam.

Mary Ng said Canada values and appreciates Vietnam's role in ASEAN as well as the role of Vietnam and ASEAN in Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy. She expressed her hope that Canada and Vietnam will push negotiations on the ASEAN-Canada Free Trade Agreement and support Canada as the rotating chair of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) this year.

Also Wednesday afternoon, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh received Thai Ambassador to Vietnam Nikorndej Balankura, who came to say goodbye before ending his mission in Vietnam.

The Prime Minister congratulated the Ambassador on successfully completing his term of office and actively contributing to the development of the Vietnam-Thailand strategic partnership in recent times. He expected that in his new position, Nikorndej Balankura will continue to pay attention to and contribute to further cooperation between the two countries.
