PM requests analyzing results and shortcomings to more effectively fight pandemic
(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has asked Government members and local leaders to analyze the achieved results and causes of shortcomings to more effectively fight the COVID-19 pandemic and recover the economy.

The Prime Minister on Wednesday chaired the Government online meeting on pandemic prevention and control; socio-economic performance in July and seven months of 2021; and key tasks and solutions to address difficulties and boost socio-economic development in the last months of 2021.
Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung said that over the past seven months, the macro-economy was stable with inflation under control. The average CPI in 7 months increased by 1.64%; credit growth recovered, reaching 6.6%. Production and businesses were maintained from January to July despite the severe impacts of the pandemic, especially in July. Index of Industrial Production (IIP) ) in July increased by 1.8% over the previous month and by 2.2% over the same period last year.
Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long said that the pandemic may be prolonged, especially in Ho Chi Minh City and southern localities. Some provinces are at risk of another wave of outbreak.
Leaders of provinces and cities and members of the Government agreed to mobilize maximum resources and participation of all levels, sectors and social forces for the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic, care and treatment of patients, and securing vaccine supplies.
