PM Chinh chaired a conference to evaluate the results of combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing and prepare to welcome and work with the EC inspection team. The Hanoi conference was linked with 28 coastal provinces and cities.
The Prime Minister said that after nearly one year since the 4th EC inspection last October and seven years of implementing tasks and solutions to combat illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing to get the EC's "Yellow Card" warning lifted, progress has been made with many requirements pointed out by the EC being met. However, some work has not been completed as required, he added and urged for renewed efforts in combating IUU fishing.
