(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung stressed the need for more freedom for universities at a conference in Hanoi on Tuesday. He said that this policy will increase the quality of training to meet Vietnam’s industrialization and modernization.

The Prime Minister said that education is Vietnam’s top national policy and it will contribute to economic restructuring to achieve rapid and sustainable growth. He asked the Government Office and the Ministry of Education and Training to collect opinions from other relevant ministries and universities to the draft government resolution on granting greater autonomy to universities.

The draft resolution will be discussed at the government monthly meeting for August.
