Mr. Chinh said several projects are behind schedule due to slow investment procedures, sluggish site clearance, and sloppy coordination.
He stressed the importance of public investment in national development, noting that nearly 27 billion USD of public investment capital will be allocated in 2024, most of it for transportation infrastructure.
“The projects must be completed on schedule, with quality, technical standards, safety, and environmental sanitation ensured. Special attention must be paid to employment, healthcare, education, and social infrastructure for those who have given up their land and livelihoods for these projects,” said Mr. Chinh.
Vietnam currently is working on 34 major transportation projects, including five railway projects, two airport projects, a number of highways, and ring roads in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
