(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Wednesday called for efforts to implement the digital transformation strategy as more than 5% of ministries, branches and localities have started digital transformation programs, an important solution to boost growth.

The Prime Minister, who is also Chairman of the National E-Government Committee, chaired a meeting of the Committee in Hanoi on Wednesday to review 5-year implementation of Resolution No.17 on key tasks, solutions to e-Government development.
Mr. Phuc praised Vietnamese technology enterprises for gradually mastering core technologies and developing technologies for digital transformation. With the enactment of Government Resolution No.17, Vietnam, for the first time, has a master plan on e-Government implementation, focusing on institutions and shared databases.
Prime Minister Phuc emphasized future tasks, saying, “Further efforts should be made to roll out national databases, including the national database on population. We need to minimize administrative procedures. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment needs to complete the national database on land and in July 2021 complete the connection and sharing of data according to regulations.”
The Prime Minister urged all state agencies and organizations and large enterprises to finalize the identification of information system security levels.
