PM wants Thua Thien-Hue to become major cultural, tourist hub
(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Saturday urged the central province of Thua Thien-Hue to work harder to become a major and distinctive cultural and tourist hub in Vietnam, focusing on smart tourism and making full use of the “Central Heritage Road” and the “East-West Economic Corridor.”

Working with provincial leaders on ways to ensure rapid and sustainable development, PM Chinh said that Thua Thien-Hue is strategically important for Vietnam’s socio-economic development, politics, culture, national defense and security.
As the gateway of the East-West Economic Corridor, Thua Thien-Hue should accelerate infrastructure development, particularly in digital transformation, and effectively implement the project to turn the province into a centrally-run city, he added.
Mr. Chinh asked Thua Thien-Hue to partner with major firms to build shopping and entertainment complexes and promote medical tourism, agricultural tourism, among other services.
