Poland, China donate COVID-19 vaccines to Vietnam
(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam received more than 500,000 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine on Monday donated by the Polish Government.

Polish Ambassador to Vietnam Wojciech Gerwel handed over the vaccine batch to Deputy Minister of Health Truong Quoc Cuong.
Earlier, the Polish government announced its decision to donate AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine to Vietnam along with essential medical equipment worth 4 million USD, and its plans to transfer an additional 3 million doses of vaccines to Vietnam.
The shipment of essential medical equipment for COVID-19 prevention and control is expected to arrive Vietnam in early September.

Also on Monday, a ceremony was held at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi to receive 200,000 doses of Vero-Cell vaccine and more than 200,000 disposable syringes from China’s Defense Ministry for the Ministry of Vietnam’s Defense Ministry.
Vero-Cell vaccine produced by Sinopharm has been approved by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and used in more than 70 countries.
