At their talks, Thanh said that the two countries should strengthen defense links by promoting the exchange of delegations, establishing a deputy minister-level defense dialogue mechanism, and working together on education- training, defense industry, and exchange of information and research. Minister Siemoniak voiced his support for Vietnam’s stance on settling disputes by peaceful means in line with international law and applauded Vietnam’s involvement in UN peacekeeping missions.
