Politburo holds conference on criticism and self-criticism
(VOVworld) - The Politburo of the Party Central Committee today held a national personnel conference on criticism and self-criticism in Hanoi. This is the second conference of this kind focusing on urgent issues related to Party building in accordance with a resolution adopted at the Party Central Committee’s 4th plenum earlier this year.

The conference focuses on three main issues: first, political ideology, ethics, lifestyle and regulations on “don’t do” things for Party members; second, limitations and weaknesses among cadres; third, limitations and weaknesses in implementing the principle “Collective leadership, individual in charge”. Associate. Professor Dr Ngo Huy Tiep, Director of the Party Building Institute under the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Public Administration spoke at the event: "Criticism and self-criticism is considered a sharp-edged weapon for communist parties such as the Communist Party of Vietnam to build and develop the Party. This can be accomplished through the self-criticism of each Party member and the criticism of non party members and party supervisors. It’s necessary for all Party members and Party organizations to express criticism and self-criticism within the law."
At the first conference, held in late February, to implement the resolution adopted at the 4th plenum of the PCC, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong said criticism and self-criticism is of paramount importance to the development of models of exemplary virtue among leaders and managers.
