(VOVworld)- National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said preparations for the election of the 14^th National Assembly and People’s Councils are in full swing, while the settlement of complaints and petitions is being done in accordance with the law.

Ms. Ngan made the statement at the 5^th  meeting of the National Electoral Council in Hanoi on Wednesday. She said: “The establishment of electoral organizations, the listing of candidates, meetings with voters and the settlement of complaints and petitions related to elections have been fully carried out. Procedures to ensure safety are implemented lawfully. So far, we haven’t found any thing wrong with the preparatory work”.

In another development, a National Electoral Council team led by National Assembly Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu made an inspection tour of Can Tho city on Wednesday. At a meeting with local officials, Mr. Luu emphasized the importance of Election Day on May 22^nd and called on Can Tho to intensify publicizing voters’ rights.
