President attends APEC CEO Summit
(VOVworld) – The APEC CEO Summit opened in Manila on Tuesday with representatives from 1,200 leading businesses in Asia Pacific attending. President Truong Tan Sang was the only invited state leader to attend and speak at a session on strategies for growth, equality, and resilience. This was his first official activity during the 2015 APEC Economic Leaders' Week.

President Sang said that Vietnam is stepping up insitutional and administrative reforms, fine-tuning its legal system, and improving its business environment. As Vietnam will have completed negotiations on 4 free trade agreements in 2015 it will be an important link in regional and global production and value chains. President Sang said that Vietnam will host APEC year in 2017 and will work closely with other APEC members to promote sustainable growth. Delegates praised Vietnam’s efforts in reforms, economic restructuring, stabilizing the macro economy, and maintaining growth. They expressed their belief that Vietnam will continue to be an attractive investment destination as it joins more free trade agreements. They also pledged to increase investment and business activities in Vietnam.
