(VOVworld) - The Vietnamese communities in many countries organized activities last weekend to honor President Ho Chi Minh on his 123rd birthday on May 19th.
In Russia, the Embassy staff and local Vietnamese on Sunday laid a wreath at the Ho Chi Minh monument in Moscow.

The same day, the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia hosted a ceremony to mark President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday and the 65th Traditional Patriotic Emulation Movement Day on June 11th. Nguyen Hong Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee in Malaysia, underscored the celebration’s significance and reviewed the Party cell’s activities to follow President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example.
On Saturday, the Sri Lanka-Vietnam Solidarity Association and the Vietnamese Embassy also mark President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday.
The Vietnamese community in Nakhon Phanom province, Thailand, offered incense to President Ho Chi Minh. Tran Thanh Tam, First Secretary of the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand, said the 10-year effective operation of the Thai-Vietnamese Friendship Village and the display of artifacts from Uncle Ho’s work in Thailand are evidence for bilateral friendship. Tam told reporter: "The Thai government and people have always treasured and nurtured their love for and unforgettable memories of President Ho Chi Minh. They are the premise for the fine relationship that Vietnam and Thailand enjoy today".

Nakhon Phanom province, 800 km north east of Bangkok, is the place where President Ho Chi Minh stayed in 1928 and 1929 for his revolutionary activities. The province inaugurated the first Ho Chi Minh memorial complex in Thailand. In Thailand, President Ho Chi Minh’s 123rd birthday was celebrated by the Vietnamese Embassy, the Vietnamese Consulate General in the northeastern region, and the Vietnamese Overseas Association in several localities.
