President joins a walk for people with disabilities
(VOVworld) – President Truong Tan Sang on Sunday participated in a walk in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, in anticipation of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities December 3. Organizers received more than 20 billion VND from philanthropists to support the poor and disabled children. President Sang presented 12 gifts worth 5 million VND each to 12 outstanding children with disabilities all over Vietnam. Phan Thi Rat from Ninh Thuan province is one of them: “I feel very lucky and honored to be one of the recipients of the President’s gifts. I hope that the Party and State will have more incentives so that we will be more motivated to move forwards.
President Sang and many other people wrote their best wishes for the Vietnamese people with disabilities.
The same day, the General Department of Sports and Physical Training and the Vietnam Paralympics Association hosted a charity art program, honoring contributions made by disabled athletes.
