This is President Cuong’s first overseas business trip in his new role, which holds significant importance both bilaterally and multilaterally. The visit will contribute to further strengthening traditional friendly relations, enhancing political trust, effectively exploring cooperation opportunities, and promoting relations between Vietnam and Chile, Peru, as well as the Latin American region.

The President’s engagement in the 2024 APEC Leaders’ Week to mark its 35th founding anniversary, reaffirms Vietnam’s positive and responsible contributions to resolving regional and global issues, particularly in advancing the international economic integration process.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang said, “The President will raise many strategic and groundbreaking proposals to further APEC's role and position in international economic cooperation and connectivity, and respond to challenges facing the international community and the Asia-Pacific region in particular."

"The President will also convey the message of the Vietnamese people's aspiration to excel in the new era, and the major orientations of Vietnam's development, foreign affairs and international integration. APEC is among the top priorities. There will be a call on APEC member economies and the regional business community to continue supporting Vietnam to realize its goal of becoming a high-income developed country by 2045,” according to the Deputy FM.
