President meets with UK ambassador
(VOVWORLD) -President To Lam congratulated the UK on successfully organizing the general election and expressed his hope that the new British parliament and government would continue to support promoting relations with Vietnam.

At a reception for UK Ambassador to Vietnam Iain Frew, in Hanoi on Wednesday, the President proposed that the two sides continue to increase the exchange of delegations at all levels, closely cooperate in national defense and security, education and training, and people-to-people exchanges. He asked the UK to promote cooperation in renewable energy, green growth, digital transformation, finance and banking, healthcare, and pharmaceutical industry.
The President affirmed that Vietnam supports the UK in the process of joining the CPTPP Agreement, believing this will be a new driving force for the two countries to boost trade and investment cooperation and economic linkages at the regional level.
President To Lam also asked the UK to continue to actively support Vietnam in accessing financial resources, management technology and human resources development.
Ambassador lain Frew said the new government of the UK will continue the foreign policies of the previous government, which gives priority to strategic partnership with Vietnam. Praising Vietnam as a dynamic, reputable and responsible development partner in the region, the ambassador affirmed that the UK will continue to support Vietnam's sustainable development and asked Vietnam to support the UK in further strengthening relations with the ASEAN region.
