President Nguyen Xuan Phuc visits and congratulates Buddhist dignitaries, monks, and nuns at Hue Nghiem Pagoda, Minh Dao Pagoda, Ho Chi Minh City

At separate meetings, Mr. Phuc insisted on major contributions of Buddhism to the nation over the past 2,000 years since the religion came to Vietnam, adding Buddhism always plays a key role in defending the nation and people.

He reiterated that the Party, State and the Vietnam Fatherland Front believe and hope the Vietnam Buddhist Shanga will further uphold its role and prestige in building the great solidarity, spread the religion's beautiful values, and contribute more to the development of a prosperous, democratic, and civilized Vietnam.
