(VOVworld) – President Truong Tan Sang visited Quang Ninh province to overhaul activities to address the consequences of the torrential rains and flooding over the last few days. Expressing his sympathy for the province’s human and property losses, he asked the local administration to help the residents to quickly stabilzie their lives and businesses.
The President also visited Cao Dang Vi, the only survivor from a family of 9 in the recent flooding. Torrential rains and flooding from July 25 to August 3 have left 17 people dead and 30 others injured. 339 houses collapsed, approximately 9,000 houses are submerged, 4,000 hectares of crops and 1,200 hectares for aquaculture have been destroyed. Losses are estimated at 120 million USD, nearly half of which has been suffered by the coal sector.
