President pays pre-Tet visit to Supreme Patriarch of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha
(VOVWORLD) - The Party and State always respect and ensure people’s freedom and legal practice of religion and belief, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc said during a visit on Monday to Most Venerable Thich Tri Quang, the Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, ahead of Tet, the Lunar New Year.

President Phuc urged authorities to create more favorable conditions for religious organizations to mobilize their resources for national development.
Most Venerable Thich Tri Quang, who is based at Hue Nghiem pagoda in HCM city, said that the Vietnamese Buddhist community will continue to join hands with the population for a stronger Vietnam and people’s happiness.
