President receives executives of leading Korean groups

(VOVWORLD) -President Nguyen Xuan Phuc received leaders of Hyosung, Samsung Electrics, and KDB Bank on Tuesday as part of his state visits to the Republic of Korea. At the meetings, the President suggested that the groups continue to invest in Vietnam's localities in areas of strength, high technology, and environmental protection.

Receiving Chairman of Hyosung Group Cho Huyn-joon, President Phuc applauded Hyosung's effective investment in Vietnam and its plan to expand investment in the country and asked the Group to double its investment capital in Vietnam.

Meeting with Vice Chairman and CEO of Samsung Electronics Han Jong-hee, President Phuc praised the Group's plan to expand investment in Vietnam and raise capital to 20 billion USD. He said he hopes Samsung will continue its investment in Vietnam in supporting industries and smart technology, turning Vietnam into a production base and seizing new technology opportunities. He suggested that Samsung participate in the upcoming innovation exhibition in Vietnam.

Meeting Chairman and CEO of the Korea Development Bank (KDB) Kang Seog-hoon, President Phuc suggested KDB continue to develop strongly to support Korean businesses to invest and do business successfully in Vietnam, especially in green and sustainable financial development and promoting the green bond market according to the National Strategy on green growth 2021-2030.

The Chairman and CEO of KDB said he wants to share development experiences and contribute to economic development in Vietnam, support capital support for Korean enterprises in priority areas of Vietnam such as green development, environment, and clean energy. KDB is also researching, expanding and developing more business and new financial services products in Vietnam, he said.
