President receives leaders of APEC member economies
(VOVWORLD) -President Tran Dai Quang held a bilateral meeting on Friday in Da Nang with Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on the occasion of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting.
Mr. Lee expressed his hope for Vietnam’s support during Singapore’s presidency of ASEAN next year and called on Vietnam to create favorable conditions for Singaporean businesses. President Quang reiterated Vietnam’s policy of encouraging Singaporean investment in Vietnam.
At a meeting with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull the same day, both leaders said they are pleased with the development of the Vietnam-Australia comprehensive partnership and agreed to continue efforts towards a strategic partnership.
At President Quang’s meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on the same day, both leaders agreed on closer cooperation to further the extensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan. Later on, President Quang and Prime Minister Abe witnessed the signing of cooperative documents on projects worth a total of 5 billion USD between Vietnamese ministries and Japanese companies.
President Quang also met bilaterally with Brunei Sultan Hagi Hassanal Bolkiah. Both sides pledged to work closely to foster solidarity and maintain the central role of the ASEAN in issues related to peace, stability, cooperation and development in both the region and across the wider world.
