(VOVworld) – The Military Technical Academy celebrated its 50^th anniversary and received the Independence Order, 2^nd class, on Friday.

Attending the event, President Tran Dai Quang urged the Vietnam People’s Army and the Academy to promote its role in defending national sovereignty and socialism.
He asked the Academy to promote its tradition of unity and creativity to meet the new demands. “Scientific research is a decisive task in improving the quality of education and training and the quality of the staff to meet the requirement of modernizing the army and expanding international cooperation. It’s necessary to improve scientific research in accordance with the Strategy on Scientific and Technological Development for Military and Defense until 2020. Research should be focused on scientific and technological applications in producing and storing weapons and equipment.

On behalf of the Party and State, President Tran Dai Quang conferred the Independence Order, 2^nd class, on the Military Technical Academy.
