(VOVworld) – Peru’s President Pedro Paplo Kuczynsky hosted a welcome ceremony to heads of the 21 member economies to attend the 24th High-Level Week of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum.

Following the function, President Tran Dai Quang held dialogue with the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) to discuss ways to boost growth and connectivity in Asia-Pacific in the context the world economy is slowly recovering while protectionism and anti-globalization movement tend to increase.
Mr. Quang, the Prime Ministers of Malaysia, the Republic of Korea, and US Trade Representative Michael Froman jointly chaired the dialogue with the council’s member enterprises. He spotlighted Vietnam’s efforts in restructuring, increasing productivity, and prioritizing the transfer of science, technology, and administrative reforms. He said he hopes APEC businesses will continue to support and make greater contributions during the APEC Vietnam Year 2017 for the sustainable development, prosperity of the business community of APEC and the Asia-Pacific region.
The same day, President Quang delivered a speech at the closing ceremony of the APEC CEO Summit in Lima, Peru.
He conveyed a welcome message to APEC enterprises to invite them to Vietnam to join the CEO Summit as part of the 25th APEC Summit Week to be organized in Da Nang.
He praised the support of the APEC Business Community over Vietnam’s 30 years of renewal process and almost 20 years since Vietnam became a member of the APEC Forum.
With the theme “Creating a New Driving Force for a Common Future”, Mr. Quang called on APEC enterprises to jointly make new milestones, put forth more initiatives, and realize them for the APEC Vietnam Year 2017.
