President Truong Tan Sang met with Ho Chi Minh city voters on Monday.

Ho Chi Minh city voters appreciated the sessions as effective and serious, including the first-ever vote of confidence for officials elected or approved by the National Assembly, and the referendums to collect public opinions to the draft laws, including the revised Land Law and the Constitutional revisions.  The voters expressed special concern about the implementation of the National Assembly’s resolution after the session.
President Sang acknowledged voters’ recommendations. Sang said: “Voters want the leaders to take full responsibility. The National Assembly will amend the Law on Anti-Corruption and Waste. We have sufficient legal documents but enforcement has not been strict enough. Voters and National Assembly deputies should hold a further exchange of opinions. The People’s Councils should also hold question and answer sessions with voters in a frank and constructive manner.”

President Sang urged the voters to promote their supervisory role in personnel building and assisting agencies to detect and handle violations.
